Instructions
Once the site has loaded, in the central window you
will see a map with the Cotswolds AONB highlighted
in yellow. To the right of this you will see an
overview map showing where you are focused on (in
the main central window) in relation to the rest
of the England, Scotland and Wales. Underneath you
will see a panel showing the list of layers that
are visible on the map i.e. Cotswolds AONB in yellow
stripe, other AONBs in green stripe, Government
Office Regions green lines and urban areas in grey.
If you do not see a layer on the map click on the list
of layers button. This will show a list of all the
layers, the ones that are greyed out cannot be seen
at the scale you are viewing the map. Here you can
also turn off any layers that you do not need (this
will help the efficiency of the site).
Searching the map
There are a number of ways to search the map, by clicking
on the search options tab (You will be on the 'Map
Tools' which will be highlighted in orange as this
is the default menu).

This will bring up buttons to allow you to search
on Government Office, Postcode, Place, County and
Grid Ref.

Once you have clicked on one of these buttons a new
window will appear (this may take a few seconds) asking
for your selection (i.e. what postcode) or ask you
to choose your option from a dropdown list (i.e. Govt
Office).
NB - The postcode search will display a postcode sector
rather than a specific street.
To explore the map further you can use the following
buttons found under the map and to the left. Reading
from left to right:

map you would like to have a closer look at. This

once keeping the mouse button held down, then dragging
over the area you would like zoom in on.
Zoom

you would like to see more of. This will zoom to half
the current scale (for example, if the current scale

You can also zoom out from a specific area by clicking
once keeping the mouse button held down, then dragging

map however after a couple of seconds this will redrawn
with the area of the map you have panned to.
OS

want to see only the layers you have selected and
not the map details, and back on if you do want to
see the map.

the map in use the scale function under the map
and to the right. It displays the scale the map

It is possible to change the information the map displays
to tailor it to your own requirements.

Map Topic'.

Click on this and a new window will open showing the
main layers available. If any of these are suitable
click in the button next to the layer title (you may
only choose one). Then click on the blue 'next' button.
That layer will then appear on the map.
If these are not what you want and you require some
additional information click on the final option at
the bottom of the page 'Design my own topic" then
